Cookie Policy.
We use the bare minimum number of cookies needed to make hdarctic.com work — and we tell you exactly which ones, and why.
This Cookie Policy explains how Havellen & Dahl AS ("HD Arctic", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on hdarctic.com. It complements our Privacy Policy and applies to anyone who visits our website.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your browser, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the site.
Some cookies are essential for the website to function — these can't be disabled without breaking core features. Others are optional and used for things like analytics or personalisation. This policy also covers similar technologies such as local storage (used by your browser) and pixel tags (sometimes used in emails), which serve comparable purposes.
We keep cookie use minimal. No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking. Just what's needed to deliver the booking experience and run the site responsibly.
Cookies We Use.
- WordPress session cookies — keep the website running and your session active while you browse.
- Stripe cookies — set by Stripe (our payment provider) when you initiate a booking. Essential for processing payments securely and preventing fraud.
- Form submission cookies — used by the concierge form to confirm successful submissions and prevent duplicate sends.
- Local storage (sessionStorage) — remembers your filter and sort selections on the booking page during a single visit (for example, the package and rate you were viewing). This data stays on your device and is cleared when you close the browser tab.
- Booking flow state — keeps your in-progress booking selections (room, dates, add-ons) so the page survives a refresh. Cleared on completion or close.
Third-Party Services.
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use to deliver our booking experience. We have no control over the cookies they set, but we choose partners that respect user privacy and meet GDPR standards.
How to Manage Cookies.
You can control and manage cookies in several ways. Please note that disabling certain cookies may impact the functionality of our website — in particular, the booking and payment flow requires Stripe's strictly necessary cookies to work.
Through your browser
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Direct links to each major browser's cookie controls:
Across all websites
If you prefer a single-place way to manage cookie preferences across many websites, look at Your Online Choices (EU) or DAA AdChoices (US).
Do Not Track.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry standard for how websites should respond to this signal, we currently do not respond to it specifically.
That said — we already limit our use of cookies to what is described in this policy regardless of any DNT setting. We don't use tracking cookies. So in practice, our behaviour is what DNT asks for.
Changes to This Policy.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page tells you when the policy was most recently revised.
If we ever start using analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before setting any such cookie.
Contact.
