Where we live.
69° north. Northern lights from September to March. Midnight sun from May to July.
Born in Tromsø.
Built for travellers.
We started HD Arctic because we know Tromsø better than anyone — and we saw how many visitors were missing the best of it due to complicated logistics and poor planning.
We exist to make that disappear. Every detail, handled by Havellen & Dahl AS.

Our packages.
Eight complete journeys, each one designed by hand. Accommodation, activities, transfers — everything arranged. You arrive ready, we handle the rest.
Questions about a package?
We're happy to help you find the right experience.
The Arctic, in detail.
Every experience here is part of how we craft your stay. You won't find checkout buttons — because we don't sell activities alone. We arrange them as part of complete journeys, with accommodation, transfers and timing handled.
Find what calls to you below. We'll tell you which packages include it, or build something around it.
Polaria After Hours
An evening alone with Norway's northernmost aquarium.
Through our direct partnership with Polaria, HD Arctic guests can be hosted privately after public closing — the seal tunnel quiet, the panoramic films lit only for you, and a curated experience built around what you want most from it.
This is the only experience on hdarctic.com that exists nowhere else. Bookings are personal, by enquiry.

Northern Lights
The aurora at its most vivid — by boat, bus or hot tub.

Whale Watching
Humpback and orca in the Norwegian fjords.

Dog Sledding
The Arctic, behind a team of huskies.

Snowmobile
Lyngen Alps and beyond, on snowmobile.

Sami Culture
Reindeer, joik and stories from a Sami family.

Fjord & Sea
Kayak, cruise, fish, float — the Arctic from water.

Polaria
Arctic seals, panoramic films, and after-hours.
Have something specific in mind?
Tell our concierge what you'd like to do — we'll build the trip around it.

Our residences.
Two carefully chosen places to stay — one in the heart of Tromsø, one under the Lyngen Alps. Curated by HD Arctic for guests who want their accommodation to be part of the experience, not just a place to sleep.
Aurora View Apartment
A modern apartment in the heart of Tromsø with views over the harbour and Arctic sky. Walking distance to everything that matters.
The Lyngen Lodge
Our signature cabin in the Lyngen Alps — built around the view, the silence, and the kind of dark sky you only find this far north.
Reserve early access.
Both properties open to booking later in 2026. Join our list for early access, or write to us directly — first-priority booking goes to guests who reach out.
If you can picture it,
we'll arrange it.
Concierge isn't a menu. It's a blank page. Tell us what you're imagining — the obvious, the specific, the impossible-sounding — and we'll build the trip around it. We have built things people thought were unbookable. We probably can build yours too.
For 1–4 guests — couples, families, small groups, solo travellers. Travelling with 5 or more? Go to Groups →
If you've imagined it, we've probably already arranged something close. And if not — we'll figure out how.
Whatever you write below, we take seriously.
"Every Concierge trip lands on my desk, and I'm the one who builds it — the hotel, the timing, the guides, the small things that make a stay actually work. Write me what you're picturing. Don't worry about whether it sounds too specific or too vague. I'll read it the same way either way."
This is the most important part. No idea is too specific or too unusual. Write as much or as little as you'd like — what brings you here, who you're travelling with, what would make the trip unforgettable. Aurora photography rig? Sami elder for the kids? A dinner only the locals know about? Tell us. We'll figure out the rest.
A few of the trips we've built.
Anonymised. Each one began with a single message.
"A family of seven celebrating a wedding anniversary. We arranged a private chef dinner under the northern lights, a Sami elder to teach the children, and a private boat for the morning."
"A photographer from Japan who wanted only nights, no daytime activities. We built a four-day rhythm of late starts, sunset tours, and aurora chases — with quiet hotels in between."
"Three sisters who wanted to learn traditional Norwegian knitting from a local. We found them a Sami knitter in Karasjok, arranged the trip there, and made sure they came home with handmade mittens."
Groups have rhythms.
We design around them.
The 22-year-old wants the hot tub at 1 AM. The 67-year-old wants to be in bed by ten. They both want the same northern lights. Our job is to design a trip that holds all of that without anyone feeling left out — parallel rhythms for mixed-age guests, multi-room logistics, group activities, and shared evenings that bring everyone back together.
For groups of 5 or more — celebrations, milestones, friends and families travelling together. Travelling with 1–4? Go to Concierge →
Five thousand guests at Radisson taught Erlend how to design for groups that mix paces, ages and appetites. Whatever you write below — celebration, milestone, reunion — we take seriously.
Tell us about your group. We'll figure out the rest.
"Every Groups enquiry lands on my desk. I'm the one who maps the rhythms — who needs the slow morning, who needs the late night, where the group splits, where it comes back together. Tell me who's coming and what you're celebrating. I'll send back a real plan, not a brochure."
Tromsø Family Winter Holiday — for 5 or more.
The Family Winter Holiday package fits 3–4 guests in a single Family Room. For 5 or more, we re-build the same itinerary as a tailored group trip — same activities, same rhythm, scaled to your party.
Travelling on behalf of a company — corporate reward, team-building or client experience? Visit Incentive →
This is the most important part. No idea is too specific or too unusual. Groups have rhythms — different paces, different appetites, different priorities. The more you tell us, the better we design the trip.
Three groups, three rhythms.
Anonymised. Each one began with a single message.
"A wedding party of 22 from London. We arranged a private chef dinner under the northern lights, hot tub cruises for the bridal party, and a Sami ceremony the morning after — followed by quiet recovery time at the hotel."
"Three families travelling together — eight adults, six children. We built parallel itineraries: dog sledding for the older kids, gentler Polaria mornings for the youngest, and shared evenings for the whole group."
"A 60th birthday gathering of twelve close friends. Different paces, different appetites for adventure. We designed a rhythm that brought everyone together at dinner each night while letting individuals choose their days."
The point isn't the trip.
It's the moment they realise.
It's the moment they board the plane and realise your company values them enough to give them this. We design every minute of the Tromsø part to honour that — top-performer rewards, kick-offs, leadership retreats, client experiences. Whatever message you want this trip to deliver, we build the architecture around it.
For companies sending 8 to 60+ guests. Smaller team or non-corporate group? Go to Groups →
Incentive travel is emotional architecture. The right hotel, the right rhythm, the right dinner that lands on the right night.
Tell us who you're rewarding and why. We design every detail to deliver it.
"I've designed incentive programmes for SaaS sales teams, law-firm partners, energy companies bringing client partners north. The brief is always the same on the surface — and always different underneath. The CEO of one Stockholm company told me six of his guests cried at the closing dinner. That's what we're building toward. Tell me your message; I'll deliver it."
Incentive travel is emotional architecture. Tell us the message you want this trip to send to your people — we design every detail to deliver it.
Three programmes, three messages.
Anonymised. Each one began with a single conversation about what the company wanted their people to feel.
"A Stockholm-based SaaS rewarded their 24 top performers with four nights in Tromsø. Private aurora cruise on the first night, separate snowmobile and dog-sled tracks on day two, a private dinner at a local chef's home, recovery day, departure. The CEO told us six guests cried at the closing dinner."
"An international law firm flew their 14-person leadership team in for a strategy off-site. Mornings in private meeting rooms, afternoons split between aurora-related team activities and individual recovery time. Three days of work felt more productive than three months."
"A Nordic energy company brought 60 of their best client partners to Tromsø as a long-form thank-you. Three sub-groups, three different programmes, one shared closing gala. We coordinated logistics across nine nationalities and four dietary protocols."
The Northernmost Match.
Romssa Arena · 69° north · the home of Tromsø IL — the world's northernmost professional football club.
"Football, 350 km above the Arctic Circle. The weather is part of the script."
Football the way it's meant to be felt.
69° north
The world's northernmost professional football. Tromsø IL plays in the Norwegian top flight at a latitude where most leagues simply don't exist. There's nowhere else in football that feels like this.
The weather is part of the spectacle
Snow at kickoff, polar night skies, the chance of aurora visible from the away end. Romssa Arena's atmosphere holds shapes you won't find at any other ground in Europe.
A club that feels like a family
TIL's identity is fierce, local, and woven into Tromsø itself. The Forza-end singing carries across Tromsøya. After 90 minutes here, you'll understand why the city stays loyal through every relegation and every comeback.
Curated by locals
Every Match Day booking is handled by HD Arctic founders who grew up watching TIL — not by a marketplace algorithm. We pick the right tier, sort the logistics, and meet you at the stadium when the schedule allows.
Choose how you want to experience it.
From a clean, cold-weather match-day for the football lover to a full hospitality weekend with hotel, dinner and Arctic activities. We'll match the tier to your group.
Get me to the match.

Europa League Qualification at Romssa Arena.
For the first time in years, Tromsø IL plays continental football. Europa League qualification matches at Romssa Arena from August onwards — a rare chance to see European opposition under the Arctic sky. Dates and opponents confirmed when the draws are made (June–July 2026).
Cup matches and rescheduled fixtures are not listed here. Latest official schedule at til.no — and we always confirm with the club before booking.

The Arctic capital.
Where we live.
69 degrees north. A city of fjords, mountains and the kind of weather you remember.

When the sky comes alive
From September to March, Tromsø sits directly under the auroral oval — where the northern lights are at their most active. On dark, clear nights the sky fills with green, pink and purple ribbons of light.
Peak season is November through February, though any winter month offers real chances. Read our full Northern Lights guide →
The months without sunrise
From late November to mid-January, the sun never rises above the horizon. Instead, Tromsø is lit by a long, soft blue twilight — the mørketid — that paints the snow in shades of navy and rose.
It is quieter, stiller, and strangely warm in feeling. Locals will tell you this is when Tromsø is at its most beautiful.

The sun that never sets
From late May to late July, the sun stays above the horizon 24 hours a day. Midnight feels like late afternoon, and the light is golden, endless and alive.
This is when locals sleep at 3am after a fjord walk, when the city hums with energy, and when Tromsø transforms into something most visitors never imagine. Midnight Sun guide →
Autumn colour and quiet beauty
September and October bring red and gold across the mountainsides, cooler fjord air, and some of the best aurora viewing of the year with crisp, dark nights returning.
A quieter, softer Tromsø — before the snow arrives and the city fills with winter.

Closer than you think
Tromsø has its own international airport (TOS) with direct flights from Oslo, and seasonal direct routes from London, Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Helsinki and more.
Flight time from Oslo is under two hours. The airport is a 10-minute drive from the city centre — and we arrange every transfer. Read more →
A small city with serious food
Tromsø punches far above its weight on the culinary front. From Michelin-recommended fine dining to world-class seafood, cosy bistros and the iconic Mack Brewery — the world's northernmost.

Making Tromsø unforgettable — and effortless
HD Arctic is the flagship brand of Havellen & Dahl AS — a Tromsø-based concierge and experience company. We started HD Arctic with one simple belief: visiting one of the world's most extraordinary places should be just as extraordinary — not stressful, complicated, or filled with uncertainty.
As locals, we know Tromsø intimately. We know which nights the aurora dances brightest, which experiences are truly worth your time, and how to put it all together seamlessly.
HD Arctic is our answer to the question every traveller asks: "How do I make the most of Tromsø?"

Get in touch
We'd love to hear about your trip.
behind HD Arctic.
A small, focused team — with deep roots in Tromsø and decades of combined hospitality experience.

As HD Arctic grows, this page will collect coverage and recognition we receive. Press enquiries are welcomed.
We treat it that way.
Tourism in the Arctic is a privilege. We work only with partners who share our commitment to leaving the landscape, the wildlife, and the local community better than we found them.
Local-first
All our partners — Best Arctic, Polaria, our hotel partners — are locally owned and operated. Money stays in Tromsø.
Electric where possible
Best Arctic operates Norway's largest fleet of hybrid-electric whale and aurora boats. Our preferred Northern Lights cruise is silent and emission-light.
Wildlife with respect
No baiting. No chasing. No close approaches. Our wildlife experiences are designed to leave the animals undisturbed.
Sami partnerships
Our Sami cultural experiences are delivered by Sami families, on their terms, with full agency over how their culture is shared.
Tromsø's finest, delivered.
Every experience on hdarctic.com runs through people we know personally and trust completely. Two partnerships make the entire experience possible — one delivers the activities, one delivers the science.
Best Arctic.
The reason every HD Arctic guest sees the Arctic the way they should.
Best Arctic is our exclusive activity partner for every experience we sell — northern lights chases, whale watching, dog sledding, snowmobile safaris, Sami cultural visits, fjord cruises and ice fishing. They operate the largest hybrid-electric fleet in Norway, work with the best guides in Tromsø, and have been in this region long enough to know which night to chase aurora north and which to chase south.
When you book a package or a concierge trip with us, every minute spent on water, snow, or wilderness is delivered by Best Arctic's team. We chose them because no one else in the region matches their combination of safety, professionalism, and depth of local knowledge.
Polaria.
Norway's most northerly aquarium — and the home of Polaria After Hours.
Polaria is the Arctic's most distinguished science centre — bearded seals, panoramic Arctic films, ice-floe exhibits and a five-minute walk from Radisson Blu Tromsø. For families, photographers, and anyone curious about the Arctic ocean, Polaria is unmissable.
Our direct partnership gives HD Arctic guests something no one else can offer: Polaria After Hours. After public closing, the seal tunnel goes quiet, the panoramic theatre dims for you alone, and a private dinner can be served alongside the seal pool. It's the only experience on hdarctic.com that exists nowhere else.
All HD Arctic packages include accommodation at four-star city-centre hotels in Tromsø, walking distance to every meeting point. Premium residence partnerships are in development for the 2026/2027 season — see our Residences collection for what's coming.
Built on real relationships.
We're happy to talk about how we work with our partners — whether you're a guest planning a trip, a journalist writing about Arctic tourism, or a fellow operator interested in collaboration.
hello@hdarctic.comWe respond within 24 hours to every enquiry — packages, concierge, groups, press, partnerships, or anything in between.
The main inbox for HD Arctic — read daily by William and Erlend. Bookings, concierge requests, groups, press, or just questions. We reply personally to every message, usually within 24 hours.
